Willowtree Martial Arts is a member of the World Kobudo Federation (WKF).  We have club insurance through the WKF as well as a close working relationship with WKF.

The head of the WKF Southern Ontario is Kyosho Bob Kranstz (8th Dan). He founded The Milton School of Jiu-Jitsu was established  in 1974 by Kyoshi Bob Kranstz, an eighth degree black belt with over 47 years experience.  Kyoshi Kranstz remains active with local, National, and International organizations, and is the  WKF (World Kobudo Federation) representative for Ontario, as well as other parts of Canada.

Member of Willowtree have access to WKF events and benefits as well as the privilege of having guest instructors like  Kyoshi Krantz.

Kyoshij John Therien

Hanshi John Therien who is one of the best-known and highly respected teachers in the Martial Arts world today. He is in constant demand to teach seminars in North America, Europe and around the globe. He is the chief instructor of the Therien Jiu-Jitsu & Kickboxing organization, Canada’s largest and most successful group of Martial Arts schools.

Alain Sailly
Alain Sailly

Until 1978, Alain Sailly studied traditional martial arts of Japanese origin. He found that the use of the body in the art of combat was not optimal. He remarked that the forms of projections as they were practiced judo, Sambo, or other forms of Ju-Jitsu were complementary.
